Fog of WarThese rules describe how to run battles where the exact movements and numbers of one or both armies have been concealed from the enemy. This can be achieved by ambushing spies, moving at night, creating diversions or deliberately misleading movements to confuse enemy scouts and spies. These rules don't represent hidden movement close to the enemy army. The purpose of the rules is to liven up the game by adding an element of uncertainty where on the table the bulk of the enemy is deployed. For the most part, units will be concealed only at a distance Typically they will be revealed long before they get into combat, although battlefields with particularly dense LOS-obscuring terrain will allow units to remain concealed longer than smoother battlefields. If you are using these rules in conjunction with Helluva Night, however, or other rules which restrict battlefield LOS distance then concealed units could conceivably get quite close to one another. The Fog of War rules are currently in an unpublished, draft form; they'll be available fairly soon. In the meantime you'll have to make do with secret deployment! | |||||
