Slippery Mountain: Turns 1 & 2 - Opening Moves

Andrew won the dieroll to go first. (In this battle report, a "turn" refers to an Empire turn followed by a High Elf turn.) In turn 1, his Knights made a good advance, while he cannons raced for the Northeastern hilltop. I immediately regretted my short-sighted starting lineup, having placed my artillery squarely behind some dense (impassable) forest.

In turn 2, Andrew evened up his line a bit, and opening shots were exchanged. I moved my northern infantry brigade onto Slippery Mountain, where they were able to land a few arrows into Andrew's halberdiers, breaking up his brigade. My blue wizard marched around the southern side of the mountain and cast Hail of Destruction, doing the same to his Knights.
